We have grown over the last 9 years we have been in the market, and we are still growing.

Dan Waithaka – Founder & Managing Director
Dan is an entrepreneur and the inventor of Hybrid Micro-gasification Technology®. As a small boy back in 1984 he met Nathan Puffer, a passionate advocate and promoter of sustainability initiatives. Nathan had visited a school in Kenya where Dan’s father was a principal. They met again in 2002 and they became good friends. Later in 2011, they did a cookstoves pilot together in Kinangop, Nyandarua county in Kenya. Later in March 2018 Dan started the company.

He has 9 years of experience in the clean cooking sector. He is a Global Social Benefit Institute (GSBI) alumni at Santa Clara University, USA. He also holds an IT Diploma from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. He has also gone through several
Business courses at Strathmore Business School. He brings into the team his
12 years of experience in Management and Administration having founded a Computer School back in 2004 in Kinangop, Kenya.

Alex Mwai – Board Chair & Director of Finance

Alex is a polished financial and accounting expert with over 14 years experience in the field. He has worked with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) and other major corporations. He has vast experience in spearheading implementation and handling budgets for donor funded projects. He directs annual budgeting, planning and reporting processes in the company. He also leads in creating accounting checks and controls to ensure high level of accountability of internal and donor funds.

He holds an MBA in Finance from Kenyatta University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA K)
Catherine Ndung’u – Board Member

Catherine is an Entrepreneurship Trainer with UNCTAD/EMPRETEC, ILO/SIYB and Practical Action/PMSD. She is also a professional Business Mentor with over 7 years’ experience in Entrepreneurship training, Business Development , Brand design & Development. She is a National Export Strategy Trainer TFO CANADA (She Trades) Commonwealth Project Export readiness. She is a certified post graduate at the University of Copenhagen/(IU). She holds a BA (Hons) Design, at the University of Nairobi and is currently pursuing MSc. Entrepreneurship at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology
Nelly Njeri – Board member & Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor

Nelly has a vast experience of 8 years in Research, Data collection and enumeration.
She supports the company in field operations, having worked as a UN volunteer for 5 years.
She is currently doing her Masters in Peace and Conflict Management at Kenyatta University
Amos Nene – Head of Sales and Marketing

Amos has 8 years of experience in Sales and Marketing. He has worked with some of the leading microfinance institutions including Faulu, Ecosmart, Jamii Bora and Eclof Kenya.
He has a broad understanding of various dynamics of community based, formal and informal groups
Florence Mwaura – Head of Administration

Florence has 5 years of experience in book keeping and administration. She holds a
Diploma in Business Administration. She has also received additional Business Administration training at Strathmore Business School
John Kimani – Head of Production

John is a seasoned expert in steel and clay fabrication.
He has 22 years of experience in manufacturing steel and clay products.
He has 18 years of experience in cookstoves fabrication having worked in different stove enterprises in the past
